Did you know that there are more than 700 M informal volunteers who volunteer on projects in environmental and animal social projects?

Our users

Before we started designing, we deep dive into existing behavioral and

purchase data of our users to understand them better.
We also conducted a series of customer interviews.

Identifying user needs

I focused our efforts on launching our Minimum Viable Product (MVP), to lower the pre-seed investment round. I conducted interviews and surveys to understand the user needs. These interactions allowed us to understand their motivations, needs, expectations, and pain points.

Understanding the User Journey

When building a new feature, it's essential to create a way for users to voice their feedback. that help us to understand invaluable insights on how to make the product better, and devise technically and functionally viable solutions. Moreover, users will feel like they are part of the process, which ends up making valuable to their eyes

Everyday heroes were looking to make a difference.

We perform a heuristic evaluation and leverage studies on Generation Z to gain valuable insights.

The habitual creator

An experienced creator, she turned her passion for improving her surroundings transcending into a small business to learn improve social awareness, and do more about her passion.

JOBS-TO-BE-DONE

When I create a volunteering event, I want to be able to share into my social media for inviting my tribe and management all in the same tool where people can join and can contribute.

The active Joiner

Pliantly committed to doing good. Leaving the world better than they found it, impacting the surroundings so I can keep living a better quality life.

JOBS-TO-BE-DONE

When I do good for nature or others, I always want to share what i achieve, my goals.

✨ About

This is why Wemerang was born, a platform that allows you to create your own challenges to mobilize your tribe. Anyone can create their own challenges and monetize them.

My Role

🫧 Project Overview

We prepared the launch of the first version of the Wemerang app, a platform that aims to empower heroes who seek to leave the world better than they found it with a clear value proposition a Marketplace where creators can convene, manage, and earning money to sponsor and assist challenges.

And volunteers who would like to join and support their motivations, doing good for people, animals and the planet. Earning rewards and exchanging tokens for cash.

I led the design, user testing and development of this project from end to end.
As a designer I had the pleasure of working directly with Wemerang Founders. This gave me a more immersive vision of a horizontal and full participation in the business model.

Working hand in hand with the founders allowed me to be 100% involved in the process, from pitching to contacting strategic investors. Co-creating product strategies with a passionate team was an enriching experience. Together, we turned ideas into tangible product features.

I collaborated with the developers to define the working guidelines and scope of the proposal.
I designed user journeys, wireframes, prototypes and the definition of the design system.
In addition, I served as Quality Assurance tester to improve the user experience on the frontend.

How might we generate engagement on the Wemerang application as the preferred platform for managing challenges?

Defining the problem

The Solution

An end-to-end mobile social media app that helps users create challenges or workshops to monetize themes.

Goal

Increase transaction volume in the app, boosting the company's GMV to attract more investors.

Operational efficiency

To optimize internal operations, we will build scalable design components to work in the responsible redesign if we grow the app into a web.

BUSINESS GOALS

PRODUCT GOALS

Increase user retention within the application.

USER GOALS

Encourage user participation in challenges.

Facilitate the challenge creation process.

What i found

Everyone needs financial backing to meet the challenges and make a greater impact.

Monetization

The both resources, financial and non-financial, are essential to generate sustainable impact. Reflected some time before the mobilization starts.

Effective management

Recognition

Status for each achievement are powerful behavioral incentives for participation for both individuals and organizations.

We focused on identifying what is the job that our customers hire our product for.

We defined 2 principal user archetypes and mapped them to their respective jobs to be done.

Main Problem

Here are our future next steps:

Future steps

Here are the future next steps:

What can be improved

After months of design and development, we launched our first Native version. We had finally created the minimum viable product for our users to test and it was time to gain knowledge, learn, and iterate on our product.

Being able to do usability testing, would have allowed us to map improvements for future iterations, and validate and prioritize some tools that were generated in the backlog proposed by the user performance.

I gathered stakeholder insights and then translated them into design KPIs using the HEART method.

What did i learn?

"Needs to be simple and usable" = efficiency.

"Great customer experience" = customer satisfaction.

"Easy and intuitive" = retention

Working on a first release is a challenge, there is a lot of freedom to manage the app flows, and validating and testing with users is paramount to redefine the design and prioritize the features to implement without losing focus.

Better knowledge of engagement tactics for the gamification of this product could give me better negotiation skills as a Product owner, prioritizing features based on users' quantitative data.
